Interlock & Hardscaping

Driveways, patios, walkways, and retaining walls built to last. We do the base right — so your interlock doesn't heave, shift, or sink after the first winter.

What's Included in Every Job

Every interlock project starts with proper excavation and base work. No shortcuts, no thin bases — we build it to last through Durham Region winters.

  • Full base excavation and compaction
  • Granular A base and bedding sand installation
  • Precision interlock laying — patterns to suit your property
  • Edge restraints and polymeric sand finishing
  • Slope and drainage planning built in from the start
  • Final cleanup and site walkthrough

Why Base Prep Matters

Most interlock failures come from poor base preparation — not the pavers themselves. Frost heaving, sinking, and shifting are all symptoms of a base that wasn't deep enough or properly compacted.

We excavate to the correct depth for your soil conditions, use proper granular base material, and compact in lifts. It takes more time and material — but your interlock will still look great in 20 years.

Common Questions

How long does interlock last?

Properly installed interlock with a solid base can last 25–30+ years. The key is base preparation — we never cut corners on depth or compaction.

Do you pull permits?

For most residential interlock projects in Durham Region, permits are not required. We'll advise you if your specific project needs one.

What's the difference between interlock and concrete?

Interlock is flexible — individual pavers can be lifted and reset if settling occurs. Concrete cracks and is difficult to repair. Interlock also offers far more design options.

How long does installation take?

A typical driveway takes 2–4 days depending on size and complexity. We'll give you a clear timeline before we start.
